Hi! My name is Trudie Dvorak and am an old old friend of Katha's, Mac's sister. I've known Mac since he was in college and have been corresponding with him for years - about 25 now. I appreciate the work on the web site and hope it does indeed become a book, as Mac wrote to me!

Hello.
Just out of courisity I googled Mac's name to see if there was anthing there.
I knew Mac personally. I answered a job add to work at The Body Doctors on Mill Bay road in Kodiak.
I interviewed with Wayne while he was in Anchorage. We all know Mac had a severe drinking problem, but he was a happy drunk. His drinking got to the point he had to be replaced, and I was the one to take his job. I worked with him side by side and got to know him.
I have always liked, and admired Mac, regardless of his problems, and when all this happened, we talked for hours of how this was so "out of place", for the Mac we knew.
I havn't read the stories and links on this site yet, and am going to do so right now. Please keep me updated, and if there is a way I can contact Mac, I would like to do so.

Addendum:
When I showed up in Kodiak, I was new to everything, and everyone there. I didn't know any of the other parties involved. The only person I knew was Mac, and we immediately became friends.
Mac was a drinker, heavy drinker. He drank to the point where it affected his life, his responsibilities, and probably his health. I used to drink back then, (sober 10 yrs) and recall a few times when we drank together. Mac never once, showed any kind of violence, it was the exact opposite, he was a happy drunk.
He was also a very good person, he would do anything he could to help anyone. The thing that had us, at the shop, dumfounded was that this was so out of charactor for the Mac we knew.
To this day I cannot accept the ruling that Mac killed anyone, especially someone, a girl, he knew. It seems obvious that something happened within this circle of, less then desirable people. Someone knows something, but I don't believe that someone is Mac. The time has been let to pass without any other investagating. He was in a vulnerable position when this happened, and it was easy for a police department to close a case by hanging him. There are too many unanswered questions, and to much finger pointing to a person who, in the mind of the police and courts, has no defence for himself.

Another supporter for Mac from Kodiak. We have kept in touch all these years, and I have helped his investigators as much as I could. Once again, a small ray of hope in this case. Can anyone even imagine a murder case today with 3 defendants tried at the same time and within only months of the 'murder'? Much less all the other turns of this case. Definitely justice denied. Now if the appeal can only go forward and expose even more of this mess. No one should have to battle from jail to get through the appeal process for so many years, especially with a case with so many problems. Looking forward to a brighter future and soon!!

I am excited to see this coming together
we are aksing people all around the country to please get involved in this mis carriage of justice
My brother has been falsely convicted and in prison for 24 yrs now
With the support of people who care about such matters perhaps then we can join together and put pressure on the legal system to acknowledge his most basic human right HIS RIGHT TO TESTIFY .A major technicality in the courtroom but enough to get us back into court to show just how wrong the Alaskan courts have abused this case.
So please sign in and help us with this project to Free MAc
We ar not asking for money but for your moral suppport
thanks
